Carnival Radiance Resumes Service After Routine Drydock, Offering New Enhancements and Exciting Itineraries

Carnival Radiance is back in action, resuming her regular West Coast sailings after a recent drydock in Victoria, Canada. After spending over ten days at the shipyard, the beloved Carnival Cruise Line vessel welcomed passengers aboard on September 24, 2024, fully refreshed and ready to cruise.

During the drydock, the 24-year-old ship underwent essential routine maintenance and received minor upgrades. According to Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, John Heald, the ship saw updates in several areas:

New carpeting, tiling, and decking throughout the ship

ADA upgrades to improve accessibility for all guests

Outdoor areas and pools received a fresh look

Stateroom updates with new power outlets for added convenience

Back to her homeport in Long Beach, the 2,984-guest Carnival Radiance is once again offering her popular short sailings to Mexico and California. Guests can embark on quick getaways with three- and four-night itineraries to destinations like Ensenada and Isla Catalina.

But that’s not all! In 2024, the ship will also venture further with six-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera, as well as two 14-night Carnival Journeys voyages to Hawaii and Mexico. These special sailings, taking place in mid-October and early December, will treat guests to breathtaking views and unique experiences. Ports of call in Hawaii include Kahului, Nawiliwili, Oahu, and Hilo, with plenty of sea days to soak in the Pacific beauty.

Previously sailing as Carnival Victory, the ship emerged from a massive $200-million transformation in late 2021, becoming Carnival Radiance. This major refit introduced new public spaces, modernized staterooms, and exciting features, including:

Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse for mouthwatering barbecue

Cucina del Capitano, offering family-style Italian dining

Bonsai Sushi, perfect for sushi lovers

RedFrog Pub, serving up Caribbean-inspired drinks

Not to mention the fan-favorite Big Chicken restaurant, brought to life by Carnival’s Chief Fun Officer, Shaquille O’Neal, and the Heroes Tribute Bar, honoring members of the Armed Forces.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned cruiser, Carnival Radiance offers a mix of relaxation, fun, and adventure that’s hard to beat!
