Carnival’s Christine Duffy to Skydive for Hurricane Relief Effort

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy is taking to the skies in support of hurricane relief efforts. On October 19, 2024, Duffy will join in a tandem skydive as Carnival Paradise departs from Port Tampa Bay. Partnering with the Round Canopy Parachute Team and the USSOCOM Para-Commandos, Duffy aims to raise $50,000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation.

The foundation’s hurricane relief efforts focus on aiding first responders and military personnel working in communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will also perform during embarkation to further support the cause.

Duffy’s jump will take place from the historic “Tico Belle,” a World War II C-47 aircraft that flew during the D-Day invasion in 1944. “I’ve never jumped from a plane before,” Duffy said, “but this cause is worth every bit of effort to raise support for our military and first responders.”

This event is part of a special sailing chartered by the Special Forces Legacy Initiatives (SFLI), bringing together Green Berets and their families for a five-day cruise to the Bahamas aboard Carnival Paradise. Carnival, SFLI, Dream Vacations, and the Gary Sinise Foundation have joined forces to make this meaningful event possible.

To help Duffy reach her $50,000 goal, donations can be made directly through Carnival’s partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation.
