Hurricane Milton: Carnival Cruise Line Actively Monitoring Ships in Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic
Carnival Cruise Line is keeping a close eye on several of its ships in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic as Hurricane Milton intensifies, the company announced in a recent update.
“Our Fleet Operations Center in Miami is actively tracking Hurricane Milton, which has formed in the Gulf of Mexico,” Carnival stated.
Ships Under Watch for Possible Itinerary Changes
Carnival is closely monitoring nine ships in the affected regions, preparing for any necessary adjustments to their itineraries as the storm approaches. Among the vessels potentially impacted are:
• Carnival Paradise (sailing from Tampa)
• Carnival Sunrise (sailing from Miami)
• Carnival Valor and Carnival Liberty (sailing from New Orleans)
• Carnival Elation (sailing from Jacksonville)
• Carnival Glory (sailing from Port Canaveral)
The cruise line emphasized that the safety of both guests and crew remains its top priority, ensuring that ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storm.
Itinerary Adjustments to Ensure Safety
One ship has already made modifications due to the approaching hurricane. The Carnival Pride, currently on a seven-night cruise departing from Baltimore, has adjusted its itinerary. Originally scheduled for a three-day stop in Bermuda starting October 10, the visit has been moved up by one day to avoid the storm’s potential impact.
Additionally, the Carnival Dream has made a minor adjustment to its schedule, cutting short its upcoming stop in Key West by an hour as a precaution.
Storm Forecast and Ongoing Monitoring
Hurricane Milton is forecasted to move in a northeasterly direction, with the potential to make landfall in Florida and later impact Bermuda. Carnival is in continuous communication with the National Hurricane Center, U.S. Coast Guard, and local port authorities to ensure timely updates for guests.
For those with upcoming sailings from ports that may be in the storm’s path, Carnival urges guests to monitor their email for any important updates.
Carnival’s proactive stance ensures that the safety of their guests and crew remains a priority as Hurricane Milton continues its course.
